Support NWCSA During United Way’s Day of Caring

Support the work being done by NWCSA by donating items to NWCSA’s Food Pantry, Solid Rock Safe Haven, or the Ashland Community Shelter.  We are looking for these donations to dropped off on December 4th or any time during that week.

NWCSA’s Food Pantry, located at 1118 Tower Avenue, Superior, is looking for additional items.  Those items can be dropped off anytime during the week Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

  • Cereals
  • Quick meals like soups, stews, and mac and cheese
  • Canned Fruit

Solid Rock Safe Haven is looking for donations for making meals for residents of men’s shelter.  All items must not be expired. Any of these items can be dropped off Monday – Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at the shelter 1004 N 6th Street, Superior.  Items needed included:

Canned Goods:
Green Beans
Corn
Peas
Carrots
Beans (any beans for chilis or soups-chili, kidney, northern)
Tomatoes (crushed, whole, diced, diced with peppers, diced with garlic and herbs)
Creamed Soups
Mushrooms
Spicy Peppers
Tuna
Chicken

All Purposed Flour
Ham, Chicken, or Beef Stock
Ham, Chicken, or Beef Bouillon Cubes
Ground Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Margarine or Butter
Cooking Oil (canola, corn, vegetable, olive oil)

If you would like donate money, gift cards to a grocery store, Costco or Sam’s Club, please drop those items off at the NWCSA Main Office 1118 Tower Avenue, Superior Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Ashland Community Shelter is in need of donations for our shelter participants.  Our Wish List includes

  • Warm blankets and New Pillows
  • Coffee, Sugar, Creamer, Coffee Filters
  • Toilet Paper
  • Microwaveable food
  • Snacks and Sandwich Supplies
  • Pens, Pencils, Notebooks
  • New Vacuum Cleaners
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Laundry Pods, Dryer Sheets
  • Snow Shovels
  • New Cordless Phone
  • Plastic to Cover Windows
  • Funding to Help with Plowing Expenses
  • Drywall work and repair
  • Painting and Other Maintenance jobs

Contributions are appreciated and can receive a letter for tax purposes. They can be dropped off at 2300 Lake Shore Drive West, Ashland from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

For the NWCSA Superior offices, when the Superior schools are closed due to bad weather, our office will also be closed.

  • Twin size Bed Sheets (Flat & Fitted)/Pillowcases/Blankets/Quilts
  • Pine-sol/Dawn Dish-washing Liquid (can be off-brand), Scrubbing Bubbles, Bleach
  • Coffee (ground please)/Coffee Filters/Hot Cocoa/Kool-Aid, sugar & creamer
  • Paper TowelsToilet Paper, Paper Plates, Paper Napkins, Heavy Duty Tin Foil, parchment paper & plastic wrap.
  • 33 Gallon Heavy Duty Lawn/garbage Bags & 13 Gallon Kitchen garbage bags
  • Gallon Zip Lock bags, quart bags.
  • Men’s Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Razors/Shaving Cream/Body Lotion
  • Men’s Deodorant/Men’s Body Wash
  • Men’s Socks/Underwear (new and sizes Medium to 4X and any type; boxers or briefs)
  • Non-Perishable & Other Food Items (canned veggies (whole kernel corn, green beans, peas, carrots), canned diced tomatoes (with or without chilies), tomato sauce, pastas, pasta sauce, rice, canned pinto/kidney/black beans, sauces, dry potato flakes, gravy mixes, dry soup/chili mixes, box cereals, bags of split peas & beans, Mac & Cheese, Spam & canned beef or chicken ), cream of chicken, broccoli, mushroom soups.  Peanut Butter and Jams and/or Jelly. Tarter sauce, relish (sweet or dill).
  • Bulk Spices: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder.  Chicken, Beef, Ham bouillon cubes or powder.  Cooking Oil, FlourCorn Starch, Baking Powder, Baking Soda & Cornmeal.
  • Frozen Meats (within 4-5 months from date & kept frozen); ground beef, pork, chicken, venison, lamb, sausage, brats, beef roasts, fish fillets.
  • Perishables (and cannot be expired please!): Milk, Butter or Margarine, Breads, Eggs.
  • Men’s Pajama Bottoms; sizes Medium to XXXL.  Long or short.
  • Gently used and washed Men’s Shorts; Medium to XXXL & T-Shirts; Sizes Medium to XXXL.  Men’s Flip Flops; Sizes 8 to 14.
